Table Topping Nomads Continue Unbeaten
Scorchers U13's suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of championship chasing Killinghall Nomads. However whilst Scorchers scorers chances were limited there were some real positives to be taken from the game. Hannah picked up girl of the game playing some great defensive football and showed just how far she has come along since joining the U13's this season. Daisy made some outstanding saves impressing all including the Nomads coach. Hayley played a new sweeper role stopping one shot on the line and directing the whole team. Melissa dropped in to left back and made a number of telling interceptions, also tracking attacking players. Caitlin had battling performance in midfield and Emily showed some good skills heading the ball. Abbie ran her socks off as the lone striker, but just couldnt find her way through the talented Nomads defence. A tough result, but the girls keep on smiling, enjoying their football and it's worth remembering that it's U13s but Scorchers played only one U13 in the starting line up and have already scored more goals this year by December than they scored in the whole of last season, so keep going girls!!!
