Scorchers U13's Best Performance of The Season

Thirsk Falcons hosted this Harrogate and District League match, working hard to have the pitch playable after a heavy frost. Scorchers got off to a poor start and were found ball watching as the Falcons scored straight from the kick off, however from then then on Scorchers made a real game of it. The highlight of the first half was a fantastic strike from Emily who hit a powerful shot across goal beating the keeper with real pace. At half time the score was 2.1 and Scorchers commenced the second half with a blistering assault on the Falcons goal however against the run of play Falcons broke away and scored, only to Scorchers to hit right back with a great strike from captain Kayleigh. The game was finely balanced until the last ten minutes or so when Thirsk stepped back up a level and ended the game comfortable winners. Great play from Scorchers with Caitlin player of the day and thanks to Philipa and Hayley who deputised in goal for the absent Daisy.
