U13 - Panthers Powerful Performance Too Much For The Scorchers

Ripon City Panthers demonstrated why they are one of the top teams in the league this seson with an outstanding display of football, probably the most impressive performance we have seen since joining the Harrogate and District League. Having said that it also demonstrates just how strong this league is when Panthers play like this but have still drawn two games and lost one!. The Scorchers girls gave everything they could stretching every sinue and using every ounce of energy but to no avail. Panthers pace and movement was difficult to combat and they caused chaos with every attack. Scorchers did have some good performances, improving in the second half, there was tremendous effort shown from Philipa, Rebecca and Hannah in defence and resolute work from Haley and Daisy in goal, upfront chances were limited to long range efforts. There was a gulf in ability today but also a gulf in age that the girls must always keep in mind, many Panthers players from their ID's are already 13 and several months whilst many Scorchers girls are only just 12. Emily received player of the day for working hard and never giving up.
