U12's Scorchers V Railway

With the wind blowing and the rain lashing down the teams took to the field with real determination. Scorchers started well and soon took a 2 goal lead, however Railway battled for every ball and fought their way back in to the game scoring a great goal. The game became quite evenly matched with Scorchers making a few more chances but just unable to put them away. Hannah and Ellie were resolute in defence winning nearly every key tackle, and getting back if beaten. In midfield Rebecca and Molly worked tremendously hard and didnt let Railway settle for a moment. Just before half time Scorchers got their 3rd goal but Railway stayed very much in the game. In the second half Emma came in to a defensive midfield role freeing up Molly to get forward more and Siena came on in defence, giving Ellie a break. Scorchers got the key early goal and then confidence grew and Scorchers began to look the stronger team. Railway had a great shot tipped over the bar by Rebecca C making a brilliant save and whilst not called on too often played a good game. Up front the two G's continued with goals galore getting 6 between them, their attacking play was fantastic and they linked up well and with midfield. Siena made some key tackles and Emma won some midfield tussles to keep Scorchers on top. Railway showed just how much they have improved and played some good football. Molly got girl of the game for two goals and an all action performance. Well done girls!!
