Phew what a game.Well with all the girls back and molly mitton returning (welcome back)the girls were well up for this game. Using a larger squad than normal we rotated the team and got the desired result and also played some fantastic football. I apologise now girls if I don't mention your name in this report but you all played your part today and every single one of you were awesome!
Playing down the slope in the first half the team were soon into their slick passing rhythm and it was molly w who opened the scoring for the scorchers.Now at this point let's not forget our opposition whose position in the league doesn't do justice to their team,they have some very talented players and were giving as good as they got.Despite their determination scotton managed to increase their lead to 2-0 through molly m. So after a few more substitutions allowing players to come on and show their abilities in different positions we went into half time 2-0 up.
So onto the second half and playing up the slope against a goal hungry celtic team. Again we tinkered with the team and proved what strength in depth this squad have and at this point i must mention our player of the match. This went to a girl who this season has come on leaps and bounds and always plays with a smile, Emma Collier, she is always ready to play when needed and has shown her ability to play in any position.Today in midfield she put in some crunching tackles and very intelligent lay offs keeping possesion wisely and covered up when required, well played emma.Despite her efforts and all the other girls, celtic came back at us and were never out of the game. Themselves hitting our woodwork on numerous times but sorry celtic today was our day and even though they scored 2 goals in the second half Georgie R wrapped up the win for scotton with a very neat finish.
FINAL RESULT 3-2 to SCOTTON.
