U13 SCORCHERS 9 V Leeds Amazones 0

The U13's collected another 3 points on sunday morning against a very gallant Leeds Amazones side.
Despite friday's downpour the pitch was in good condition and this helped the scorchers passing game, Madelaine Ambrose (thankyou once again for stepping up)perhaps the pick of the bunch with some very intelligent passing when she came on for the unfortunate Becky C who got whacked on the leg by the ball!(Hope the imprint has worn off now!)The defensive trio of Ellie,Hannah and Becky S handled the Amazonian attacks very well and are really looking very good at the back now.
A big thankyou must go to Emma for coming along and being a substitute before having to shoot off.
Well what can I say about the attacking force of Jayde,Georgie,Molly and Georgia?
As ever the two wingers flying down the side and supplying the crosses which GT duly dispatches, another 4 goals in this game to make a very good seasons total so far.
But now we have another sharp shooter in Riah who bagged her first ever goals in a competitive match and walked away with a brace of goals, well done Riah!
In the first half despite a lot of pressure the girls really didn't turn this into goals. This certainly wasn't through lack of effort and shots, it just seemed to be the same case as last week, the ball just not ending up in the back of the net!!
Georgie was the first to score with a lovely strike right into the corner of the goal.GT following up not long after with another great finish, but this is how the half finished 2-0 to the scorchers.
In the second half the girls really started to enjoy themselves and seemed to relax that bit more and they played with a little bit more bite and the goals started to come.3 more for GT,Georgie getting a second, Molly bagging one herself and Riah with a SCREAMER for her first goal, rifling the ball over the line from.....well actually from just on the line!!Although her second was one to talk about with a great shot just inside the penalty box.
The game finishing 9-0 to the scorchers, special praise must be given to the Amazone girls who played their part in a great game of football and were unlucky to grab a goal themselves.WELL DONE to both sides and keep it going.
Player of the match this week went to Riah who showed some great determination and skills and most importantly didn't give me too much lip this week!!

GO SCORCHERS!
