Recent Matches
U12
Railway 5 Scorchers 0
Scorchers again improved, compared to the earlier home game against Railway. The girls battled well and were unlucky not to score. Caitlin was given player of the day for her attacking midfield performance.
Poppleton Tigers 2 Scorchers 1
An exciting game saw Scorchers play some of their best football to date, with Haley striking with a fantastic shot from long range, which had the keeper completely beaten. Melissa got player of the day for a great defensive midfield role.
U10/12
Tockwith 2 Scorchers 0
Tockwith 1 Scorchers 1
A mixed age team took on Tockwith's U12's in a great friendly fixture, Scorchers took a while to settle and in the first game conceded 2 goals in the first half, the second from almost the half way line!!! In the second match Scorchers dominated taking the lead with a clinical finish from Georgie, however Tockwith battled back, scoring directly from a corner. A couple of great ga
games for the girls.
Development Team
North Riding Team 5 Scorchers 3
This in door game was played in fine spirit with exciting play and plenty of goals. With the development girls starting to 'find their feet' they gave a good account of themselves, Stephanie Parry doing particularly well.
Poppleton Tigers 5 Scorchers 0
Poppleton Tigers 1 Scorchers 0
After playing the first game in which our girls were a little overawed by the occasion they then played some of their best football todate. Playing the same Poppleton players in the second match they got a grip on the game and really showed what they can do. Emily was named player of the day for a great all round performance and non stop running.
