Girls U13 MATCH UPDATE

Tockwith v Scorchers

Scorchers played some great football in this fixture with Melissa picking up player of the day for great midfield play. With a strong all round team performance the first half ended nil, nil. Daisy was untroubled in goal and Hannah and Philippa were strong in the tackle keeping any Tockwith attacks under control. Caitlin also gave an all action performace in midfield.
In seconfd half Abbie, Kayleigh and Hayley all had attempts on goal, with Abbie making a number of pacy runs in to the penalty area. Tockwith though stepped up their performance
and came out winners in the end.

Scorchers v Nomads

Having been pipped to the title last season the Nomads have started the season in determined style going top of the league a week ago after beating last years champions and cup winners Pannal Sports. Scorchers started the game brightly and kept the scores nil nil for the first 20 minutes, playing some great football, with improved passing and movement. Nomads cahnged things around bringing on two subs who then changed the game scoring three goals before the break. Haley had been great in goal in the first half and in the second came close to scoring, just hitting over the bar with the keeper beaten. Shanon and Kayleigh had run tirelessly upfront and were rewarded for their efforts when Kayleigh hit an exquisite shot in to the back of the net. Philippa, Hanna and Rebecca put up a real battling performance in defence and Imogen and Caitlin were brilliant in midfield. Caitlin was player of the day even though she had to retire early with a back problem.
