Scotton Scorchers U11's 4
Scorchers produced one of their best battling performances to defeat a stong Panthers side in Ripon.
Missing regular keeper Jayde through illness, Mollie and Rebecca C bravely took turns in goal in a pressure match where they were both kept busy but played very well.
Missing key defender Ellie provided Rebecca S a run out in defence where she had a great game in defence with the ever improving Hannah. The game was close going towards half time until a swift passing move saw Georgia burst through the Ripon defence and slam home Scotton's first goal. Scotton then held out under heavy pressure until halftime.
After the break Scotton started brightly when in-form forward Josie soon scored a second but Panthers hit back with a quick reply. Scotton again surged forward and Rebecca C scored her first league goal to make it 3:1. With Molly W again being outstanding in midfield Scotton kept the pressure on Ripon. However, a very dubious penalty was given against Scotton which was put away by Panthers' best player. At 3:2 it was close until talismatic captain Georgia hit a late strike to take her league goal tally to 10 so far for the season and secure a famous Scorchers victory.
Player of the Match : Molly W for breathtaking committment.
After the match a friendly was played where Emma C, Rhia and Sammy C all showed great committment and no little skill to play out a 2:2 draw. Well done girls!
