Scotton Scorchers Under 11's 2
Scotton came a cropper against an impressive Trojan side who inflicted the Scorchers' first league defeat in two seasons.
Scotton got off to a flyer with a great goal scored by Josie who received a driven cross from Georgia within five minutes. However, Burley came surging on and went in at half time 3:1 up. Scotton scored first in the second half when Scotton captain Georgia took her league tally to 19. But again Scotton struggled to deal with the strong runs from the Burley strikers who eventually ran out 5:2 winners. The scoreline could have been much worse but Scotton Player of the Match Jayde pulled off several fine saves.
Scotton played well and with spirit but the lack of a full strength side proved their undoing.
Hard luck to our girls Georgia, Mollie,Josie,Rebecca,Hannah,Rhia,Emma and Jayde who fought to the last and bore defeat gracefully.
