Scotton Scorchers Under 11's 5
Knaresborough Celtic Under 11's 2
The Under 11's moved a step closer to taking the league title with a well earned victory against a handy Celtic side who never gave up. After last week's defeat to a formidable Trojan side the team's confidence needed lifting and a great team performance provided it.
For the first ten minutes however a nervy Scotton were held at bay by Celtic until Scotton captain Georgia fired home her first of five. Rhia continues to play more confidently and Player of the match Hannah proved more than a match against Celtic's star player who was obviously used to bossing opposing defences - not so today! Hannah won several big tackles against the imposing forward and received praise from supporters from both sides .Rebecca C returned from injury with a another confident attacking game.
Scotton went in 2-0 up and after the break Mollie went in goal and Jayde came out to join the attack. Alex continues her progress and had another competant game in defence. Josie played well on the left going on several runs and Jayde joined up well up front and nearly scored on a couple of occasions. Ellie returned in defence and linked up with Hannah comfortably. Mollie pulled off some good saves and began to dominate her box as the game wore on. Rebecca S worked tirelessly in midfield and Emma came on to effectively support the forwards later on in the game.
Knaresborough hit back with two goals in the second half but Georgia scored a further three and secured a deserved victory.
In the fun friendly afterwards Scotton won the contest 1-0 with a Jayde strike.
Scotton now only need 3 points from their remaining two games to secure the league title.
