U13's Caitlin Crashes in Super Goal

The girls played some of their best football of the season as they took on cup finalists Harrogate Railway. Scotton started brightly passed the ball around well and matched Railway. From a corner Caitlin stole in at the back post and crashed in a great goal putting the scorchers in front for the first time this season!!. Railway tried to respond hit the woodwork twice but couldnt find away through Scorchers strong defence. Imogen then had a chance to take Scorchers 2 nil up but just hit her shot wide. Railway grabbed a late equaliser as the half time approached. In the second half Scorchers remained resolute and with Daisy making some spectacular saves in goal kept the score fairly even. Railway then edged in front before Scorchers came back and finished the stronger team. Final Score Railway 3 Scorchers 1. The girls played particularly well and didnt allow the game to run away from them in the last 15 minutes as they have done previously. Philippa outstanding in defence and Daisy great in goal took joint player of the day award.
