U11's beaten at home by impressive Nomads

The U11 were beaten at home 5-2 by a very impressive Nomads team in very cold conditions at the cricket pitch this morning.

Nomads dominated early on playing down the slope and with the icy wind at their backs and took a deserved lead after just 5 minutes, Scotton however reacted well and top scorer Chloe found an equaliser soon after.

Unfortunately this set back only spurred Nomads on and by half time they had scored two more and had it not been for the fine goalkeeping display from Courtney the scoreline could have been a lot worse.

Scotton had not really woken up, whether it was the cold or just a bad day all round is difficult to tell but Scotton fell further behind early in the second half and then found themselves 5 down with 10 minutes to go. But suddenly the team seemed to wake up and for the last 10 minutes and at last started to look like the team that had won the last two games. Chole rounded off a fine passing move to make it 5 - 2 but in reality this was too little too late, and a very disappointing result. Having said that the Nomads display was probably the best we have seen this year and it makes the draw that we got at their ground earlier in the season seem like a very good result.

Despite the scoreline Courtney won the player of the match award for her outstanding display in goal making several good saves in both halves.

Scotton did win the friendly 4 - 3 but this was little consolation after the loss in the league game.
