U14's V Thirsk Falcons

A great game of football was played on Saturday, with the Falcons coming out on top, despite Scorchers having a great deal of the play. Philippa and Hayley again deputised in goal, pulling off some good saves, thanks for stepping in girls. In defence Philipa and Hayley tackled well and alongside Rebecca, kept Thirsks chances to a minimum. In midfield Olivia got some great attacking runs in alongside Shannon who was unlucky not to score, with the ball saved on the line. Abbie had spells in attack midfield and defence and did well in all three positions. Imogen playing the holding role, protected the defence and started a number of attacks. Emily was awarded girl of the game after a great attacking performance and a great goal, although she was unlucky not to score more. Melissa covered in midfield and attack and made some attacking runs, but couldnt beat the keeper. Rosie played up front held the ball up well and had scoring chances too. The girls really got involved today and if we had taken our chances the score may have been closer, having said that the Thirsk keeper made some excellent saves. Thanks to Thirsk for a great game played in fine spirit.
