Railway V Scorchers (A beauty from Rosie gives the Scorchers another goal)
Another fantastic performance from the Scorchers. In the first half Scorchers were playing uphill against the wind, knowing that the previous week Railway had scored 12 goals. The girls defended well with Philippa and Rebecca playing some of the best defending of their season. Daisy put in another great performance keeping us in the game. Midfield of Rosie, Shannon and Olivia created problems galore for Railway and Shannon playing up front as usual putting in an all action performance! Kayleigh, back from injury did really well whilst still not fit and will soon be back to her best.
At half time Railway were one up and the game was poised for a great second half. Railway started brightly and got a second goal. However the Scorchers came straight back and after the Railway keeper saved one shot Rosie made sure with a great strike with the outside of her right foot giving the keeper no chance.
The game went from end to end, before Railway pulled away with a couple of quick goals. Scorchers best performance to date.
Tockwith v Scorchers
With no subs today it was a real battle for the girls, Kayleigh not fully fit and two other players feeling knocks from the last game. Scorchers had a few good chances but found the Tockwith keeper in fine form. As the girls tired the goals began to go in. But the girls kept going and were resolute to the end, Kayleigh, showed some good touches as she finds her fitness after a long lay off. Rosie ran hersel in to the ground and Olivia took a bad fall but carried on regardless. The girls were well beaten today, but the scoreline didnt reflect their efforts and on another day would have got a goal or two and conceded less. Maybe it was me but i am sure i heard chants of Daisy for England!!!!!
Dont forget to vote for players player of the season!
