Well done to the girls who competed in the CYGFL tournament on sunday.The U12 girls finally got knocked out in an epic semi final against Scarborough Ladies after about 10 penalties after extra time. The U12 team was made up from a mixture of U11 and U12's from last season. All girls played a strong part in the tournament and showed how good they were by not conceding a single goal in the knockout stage.Only to cruelly be beaten on penalties, athough I think heat and exhaustion were the real victors!!!
The girls once again reclaimed local bragging rights by beating the auld enemy (K'boro Celtic) in the knockout stage.
I'm sure if they had not been forced to walk a couple of miles in the intense heat before the semi final the girls would have gone on to win the tournament.
Anyhow well played girls and a big thankyou to all the parents who came along and basked in the glorious sunshine, I hope you all had a great (if not long!) day.
