The girls entertained Brayton Belles on Saturday and earned another point in a 2-2 draw. We fell behind early on due to a free kick awarded for a push. THe Brayton striker hit it hard straight in to the corner and we were 1-0 down. However the girls rallied and put Brayton under pressure with Saffy going close twice. We producd some pleasing passing movements and scored after one set Jess up, her shot was deflcted to Ellie who controlled turned and calmly tucked the ball home.
In the second half Charlotte H and girl of the game Vicky ensured Lizzie had a quiet game, when she did get beaten Vicky was there to clear off the line, in between we hit the post twice through Saffy and Ellie. Birthday girl Charlotte Mc. and Jess closed down midfield and there danger player really well and we only allowed her one run in the whole second half, unfortunately she score! The girls rased themselves again an Saffy and Ellie linked brilliantly to allow Ellie her second and our equaliser.
In the Friendly the girls produced some lovely flowing football to allow Georgie to score her first of the season and then Amelia hit a scorching half volley to put us 2 up. Brayton pulled one back before half time. The second half was more of the same with great passing and movement allowing Saffy to net twice, the second a real belter.
Once we had sung happy birthday to Charlotte we reflected that if we could combine the determination of the league match with the relaxed and flowing football of the friendly we would be unbeatable!
