New kit doesn't bring change of fortune for U 11's

The girls, despite the new kit provided coutesy of Piranha clothing, found it difficult to battle the wind and a skillful Stamford bridge side on Saturday.
With the wind at our backs we were disappointed t only turn round 1-1 at half time, although our goal was the result of some neat football, a pass down the line from Vicky to Saffy who turned, beat her defender and slotted hoe coolly.
Against the wind, we battled hard lizzie was effective on goal kicks and we took the lead as saffy crossed for Ellie to net form close range. We then came under some concerted pressure with the ball seeming to blow back to our goal all the time. Stamford Bridge scored a good equalizer with Charlotte H (player of the match) and Charlotte Mc. working overtime. When we went forward we didn't have much luck with thier keeper pulling off 2 fine saves from Georgie and Vicky, both of whom had solid games up front. Just as we thought we would hang on for a draw, 2 defensive lapses from throw ins cost us as we failed to clear the ball resulting in 2 goals. Jess ran her socks off in midfield with Ellie to get us back in contention but to no avail.
We travel to Fulford next week loking for a change of fortune and some points!
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for the kit and to Wayne for sorting it out.
Meet 9.20 at village hall next Sat
