Despite the forecast storms the U 11 girls played Tockwith and were disappointed to only secure a draw.
We had virtualy all the attacking play with Ellie and Saffy linking up nicely and Ellie finding her range with some super passes.We were soon 1-0 up from this combination a rasping shot from Ellie rattled the post and Saffy was on hand to tuck in the rebound.
Given our domination we were expecting more goals but Tockwith prived hard to break downand when we did get shots in their keeper kept saving them or the woodwork denied us.
We turned round still 1-0 up but aganst the wind had some defending to do which Olivia and Vicky seemed to be managing with ease. Charlotte and Jess kept winning the ball in midfield and Saffy and Ellie were running the opposition ragged while Lizzie stood and spectated form our goal. However we couldn't find that elusive second goal to kill the game and were punished when a long clearance was allowed to bounce twice and their striker latched onto it to equalise. Despite some desperate attacking epecially from Georgie who came on we couldn't get our noses in front and had to be content with a draw.
In the friendly we lent them some of the Under 10 goirls and Sophie, Rose and Elizabeth made life difficult as we could only draw 0-0 despite some fine tackling by Amelia and some good goal keeping by Olivia.
Jess was player of the match for her drive and enthusiasm in midfield, well done
