SCORCHERS 0 V 10 Yorkshire Amateurs
The girls put in really spirited display against possibly the best players and team at this age group in yorkshire, despite turning up and what seemed like every girl had some kind of ailment or another! After listening to everyones injuries and aches we got the game going.
Every single player put in 100% and there was some fantastic performances all over the pitch.
In the first half the girls held out for 10mins or so then the 'Amas' got a few more before the girls regained their composure and finished the first half strongly. Half time: 5 nil down.
In to the second half the girls kept trying to play football and pass the ball around and were playing very well but unfortunately got caught a few times again.
Credit to them all though and when they put their training into practice looked very comfortable defending against a very attacking side who have been putting in cricket scores against every team this season.
It wasn't all one way traffic either with player of the match Jayde Latimer coming out of goal in the second half and firing an effort against the post,very unlucky not to score.Georgia T was causing their defence problems all game with her tireless running too and deserved a goal too.
So Full Time: 10 nil to the 'Amas'.
WELL DONE girls and what was great to see was your smiles at the end despite the scoreline, keep going girls the gap is closing and i'm sure next game against them we'll get a result.
