Three fantastic games saw the Scorchers play some brilliant football putting in to practice all their training over the season. Everyone played their part and gave a good account of themselves.
Grace in goal made some terrific saves and her distribution from goal was first class, she also played in defence succesfully keeping Celtic from scoring. Ella in the final game went in goal and showed what a great goalkeeper she is too. Ellie and Izzy played in midfield and defence, marking up well and keeping the Celtic attackers under control, also finding time to make some good runs forward and Izzy had a real chance to score, but just couldnt get the shot away in time!
Alice played a best game yet with a disciplined defensive display, with some great tackling and passing too. Emily played in most positions showing how versatile she can be, creating scoring chances and making some great defensive tackles.
Lydia played in defence throughout with some ver solid defending and good passing from the back to create attacks for the Scorchers. Jasmin played in attack and midfield linking brilliantly with Cora and Lizzie, with a little luck all three could have been on the scoresheet, creating wave after wave of attacking play.
Ella was awarded girl of the game for a great performance all round and the teams first goal, which was taken brilliantly to huge cheers from mums and dads!!
Thanks to Celtic for hosting the games and the referee too. The girls can be really proud of their performance and whilst playing one or two older/bigger girls still kept the games really close and competetive. Final Thanks to Carol for organising the team. All being well we have another game on Saturday the 29th May.
