U13's Finish The Season with their Best Team Effort

The U13's put in the performance of their lives on saturday morning against an all conquering Yorkshire Amateurs in the League Cup Final at Ripon.
Each girl played out of their skins and really rocked the Amas with an amazing first half performance.
The 1st half kicked off with a new formation for the U13's (which the girls had requested themselves)with a back four of Becky S,Ellie,Riah and Hannah with Jayde in goal right behind them. A midfield trio of Molly,Becky C and Georgie R and the lone striker Georgie T at the top of the 'xmas tree'.
As ever the Amas were quick and strong from the whistle but once the scorchers settled into their new formation and realised they were more than capable of matching their opposition they grew in confidence and were quicker to the ball and even started to take the game to the 'Amas'.
This seemed to rattle the 'Amas' girls and the Scorchers used this to their advantage and started putting together some great breaks with GT holding the ball up well and then being supported well by the midfield trio and three or four great chances went whizzing past the 'amas' goal.On another day the scorchers could have been up 3 goals.
The back four defended as if their lives depended on it and kept out the most profilic strikeforce in Yorkshire and even when they managed a shot on target Jayde 'The Cat' Latimer pulled of fine stop after another and looked absolutely solid in goal.
5 mins before half time a speculative looping shot broke scorchers hearts when the ball just evaded Jayde and put the 'amas' one nil up, nothing anybody could have done about that.
This only seemed to spur the scorchers girls on and they immediately when on the offensive and finished the first half on top but unfortunately a goal down, had it been a boxing match the scorchers would have been ahead on points.
The second half kicked off with the emma c coming on for becky c and the girls held fast but with the hot weather this was always going to be a factor and the 'amas' seemed to grow stronger. As the space started to appear the 'amas' girls started to play some good football and scored some good headed goals and a bullet of a strike which even I would of have got out of the way of!!
Jayde came out of goal and played some neat football with Katy A who replaced Molly who had put in some lung bursting runs and well deseved her rest.
Unfortunately the scorchers finished 7 goals down but had by a long way played their best game ever and had really shocked their opposition. Fantastic team spirit shown, girls heading the ball, putting brave tackles in and being physically strong were just some of the many positives to come out of this game,so this all bodes well for next season.
So a great end to another fantastic season and here's looking forward to next season.
Georgia T showed her qualities as team captain for the final and along with all the other girls played the game of their lives but player of the match went to Molly for some fantastic effort in getting from box to box and really taking the game to the 'Amas'.
A HUGE WELL DONE GIRLS in the final and for the season, a big thankyou to Wayne and EDDIE BROWNS for sponsorship/coaching and transport this season.
After the Match the U13's and the triumphant U12's travelled in style courteousy of EDDIE BROWNS to our sponsors DAMN YANKEE for a celebratory meal.
THANKYOU TO ALL who have helped these girls play and enjoy football this season.

GO SCORCHERS!
