U12 - Brooklyn v Scotton Scorchers Tigers

The Scorchers arrived at Brooklyn's impressive new ground raring to go after the summer break. With a new line up Scorchers were quickly in to their stride, with wave after wave of attacking pass and move football. Emma stormed down the right having several shots just going wide, on the left Ella did the same, with both of them also supplying crosses to Niamh, if Brooklyn managed to get the ball away it was only as far as Georgia who created a chance or two herself and had shots on target. For 15 minutes Brooklyn defended with determination and some great goalkeeping. Just when we were wondering if it wasnt to be our day Niamh met a cross and hit the abck of the net with great precision. Emma quickly followed smashing in her first of the season.
Brooklyn looked dangerous on the break and had one real effort forced narrowly wide by Charlotte M who defended the whole game with calm composure alongside Charlotte B, who tracked players briliantly, tacked with gusto and together they formed a formidable partnership in front of Amilia in goal. Amelia had little to do in the shot stopping department, but her distribution from the floor and hands was excellent, putting the ball where she wanted it on every occasion.

In the second half, Scotton again pressed and Ella scored with a powerful left shot giving the keeper no chance. Brooklyn pushed players forward and almsot got there reward, going wide of the left hand post and, being thwarted by our determined defence in a real scramble to get the ball away. An exciting game with some lovely football. Brooklyn 0 Scorchers 3. Girl of the game went Georgia, for an excellent controlled midfield performance.

In the second game, we moved things around, Annabel making her debut in goal and Alice coming on in defence. Alice partnering Ella, kept Brooklyn at bay and Ella scored a great goal. Our two Charlottes moved up to midfield and both scored!! In the scond half Annabel played in midfield and Grorgia went in goal both of them keeping a clean sheet. Amelia lead the attack and we dont know how but failed to score as the ball just wouldnt go in, with their goalkeeper in fantastic form. Brooklyn 0 Scorchers 3. Girl of the game was Amelia, for creating numerous scoring opportunities. Well done girls. Saturday we meet Wetherby at Scotton Cricket Club, please arrive no later than 9.30am. The following week it's K Celtic at home too.
