U12 - Scotton Scorchers Tigers 3 Wetherby 1

First home game of the season and with two players unavailable with knocks and Amelia unavailable it was time to shuffle our formation and use some of the experience players had gathered last season playing different positions. So Charlotte B came in to goal and played really well, with one or two key saves and great distribution. Alice came in at left back, playing one of her most accomplished performances and winning girl of the game. Along side her at right back Charlotte M put in another great performance and captain too!! We kept our new midfield formation the same with Georgia playing the midfield holding role as if she had played it for years, great cover for the defence, tackling, passing and her first goal too! On the left Ella made great run after great run and scored the Scorchers 3rd and decisive goal. On the right Emma did the same, tackling back when needed and also providing ammunition to Dumile in the middle, Dumile scoring the Scorchers 2nd from a great cross.
Wetherby started the brighter and took the lead before the Scorchers pulled back level and then 2.1 at half time, a really close game with Scorchers getting their third to ensure the win mid way through the second half.
A great team effort again today from the Scorchers.

In the friendly Mia made her debut for the Scorchers Tigers playing as a striker and Annabel went in goal, Mia made some terrific runs but just couldnt quite get on to the end of a cross to steer the ball in to the net, she tracked back well, got a tackle or two in and made a nifty pass putting in Ella on goal. Annabel made a key save after a real goal mouth scramble, but again it was Wetherby who went ahead. With the Scorchers tiring and midfield not getting back it was Georgia and Alice who stepped up to avoid conceding again. In the second half Annabel played in the centre of midfield showing real composure on the ball and great passing too. With time running out Ella got the Scorchers level after one of her trade mark runs down the left. Final score 1.1 Annabel was girl of the second game, midfield maestro and goalkeeping too! Well done to all the girls!!!!
