Scotton Scorchers U12 Tigers 5 K Celtic 3
With the sun shining and our first match at K Celtics Thistle Hill ground everyone was looking forward to 2 great games and thats exactly what we got!!
We had asked the girls to make a speedy start, and they certainly did! With Emma playing as striker, Jasmine on the right and Ella on the left, our slightly changed attacking line up created havoc in the Celtic's defensive third. Celtic werent helped by an injury to their keeper, who kept out a rasping shot from Ella only to have to retire with what turned out to be a bad sprain, hope she is soon on the mend) The new keeper showed great heroics, but as our defence of Charlotte and Charlotte with Georgia covering turned defence rapidly in to attack the goals rained in. Jasmine scoring 2. Ella 2 and Emma 1. Half time 5.0. If the first half had been comfortable for Amelia in goal then the second half was to say the least busy! As Celtic charged forward and fought their way back in to the game. Anna joined the defence, and Niamh on the right in midfield found themselves in a real battle. A testing second half and lessons learned about thinking the game was won, saw the Scorchers in the end comfortably home 5.3. Girl of the game Ella, terrific tracking back and 2 cracking goals

The second game saw wholesale changes, Annabel in goal, Anna and Alice in defence, Niamh on the right, Ella on the left Georgia in the middle and Emma as the striker. We got everybody on and utilised the roll on roll off substitute rule. The Scorchers were back to their effective best, solid displays from Anna and Alice in defence, with great cover from midfield, Georgia with great tackling and vision was setting up the attacks. Emma and Ella came off Charlottte and Jasmine came on and the team kept their shape. We made changes again at half time, and a great game finished 2.0 to the Scorchers. Both goals one from each foot from Ella. Girl of the game Jasmine, great all round performance over both games, drove the team forward and calm under pressure when taking 2 great goals.
