U16's Fulford Foxes 1 - Scorchers 3 Nov 3rd 2012

Pictures from the match SLIDESHOW
Both sides played some great football today but I think all who witnessed this game would agree that some of the football the scorchers played was absolutely sublime.

As is becoming the norm for the girls the team managed to turn out with just 9 players and no subs with Emily T stepping up from the U15s to help out (Thankyou Em) and some of the girls had to play out of position with a special mention for GT who worked her socks off in another unfamiliar position in midfield, thankyou and well done.

In the first half the girls all took well to their positions and played the ball around with confidence and all the girls match play was spot on and as ever the Fulford goalkeeper was up to her usual world class best. Molly was causing havoc down the right and forced their goalkeeper into many an amazing save until eventually she hit an absolute peach of a shot straight over the keeper into the top corner to make it 1 nil to the scorchers.

Half time came and another quick jig round of positions and off we went again in pretty much the same vain as the first half until the Fulford girls found their feet and put a lot of pressure on the scorcher's girls and deservedly scored to draw level at 1-1.
The scorcher's rocked but they didn't buckle and after a little wobble they soon found their feet and also the sweet right foot of girl of the game Molly who put the girls back in the lead with another great strike. 2-1 to the scorchers.
This settled the girls and GT deservedly wrapped up the points with a strike to finish the game 3-1 to the scorchers.

All the girls attitudes were brilliant today and the game was a joy to watch and a special mention must go to the fulford goalkeeper who had an absolute stormer in goal.
Thankyou to Fulford as ever for another great game of football.
