U9's Have a Ball

Scorchers girls U9 were in action again at the weekend playing Knaresborough Celtic. In only their second game the girls showed just how much they have progressed and so quickly too!!
The first game was a close affair, with limited chances for both teams as they settled in to the game. Rebecca was solid in goal with good handling and with Hannah and Amber playing some terrific football in defence, Natalie, Imogen Izzie and Alicia created some really good attacking play. Final score 0.0

The second game saw Libby play some great football, good tackling and passing too as her confidence grew and grew!! And then from a Celtic clearance Alicia pounced to strike the ball home, putting the ball in the left hand corner, more chances came the Scorchers way with Imogen making some terrific runs and unlucky not to score. Final score 1.0 to the Scorchers! The third game saw all the girls play their part in a terrific game, with the Scorchers, Alicia again, grabbing the lead. However Celtic stepped up a gear and quickly equalised with Natalie in goal being given no chance. Abbie worked hard as the lone striker creating a great chance and shot at goal, Ella the teams super sub, ran, tackled and passed like a professional, as the team worked really hard to keep the Celtic at bay. Final Score 3.1 to K Celtic. Lots of smiling faces, lots of fun and great entertainment for the large crowd!! Well done girls!!
