After a tight first period of the match Scotton broke the deadlock
when inform striker Ellie Mc broke free from the defence to finish in confident
fashion past the keeper. Scotton pulled further ahead when after some good work
down the wing Ellie Mc squared the ball across the box to find Emily arriving
late and unmarked to finish with a well taken volley. Pannel to their credit
continued to compete across the park but were unable to penetrate the Scotton
defence well marshalled as usual by skipper Danielle alongside Anya with Grace
in goal. Scotton went further ahead midway through the second half when Emily again
found space and hit an excellent drive into the top corner. Again Pannel pushed
to get back into the game but were caught on the break when Bella won the ball
and passed to Emily who completed her hat trick to put Scotton 4-0 up. We then
made a number of changes in quick succession with Amy and Bella making way for
Jade and Hannah. The changes did not affect
the team and we continued to pressure the Pannel defence. We went further in
front when the hardworking Amy claimed the fifth goal to put Scotton into
a 5-0 lead. Emily and Danielle then made way for Izzy and Ellie L. Again we continued to look solid with Izzy
and Ellie slotting in well. Finally Ellie Mc and Amy made way for Emma and Amber
to see the game out and complete an excellent all round performance by the
Scotton team.
The win ensured that Scotton finished as League Champions in their
first season in the Harrogate Girls league. Go scorchers!!!!!!
In the 2nd game we played a 9 V 9 a side game to ensure
that all had a good run. Due to Pannel only having 6 players left (one had to
leave after the first match) Emily, Danielle,
Bella and Izzy made their debuts for “FC Pannel Scorchers” A really tight but
enjoyable game where all the players contributed fully was finally won by
Pannel in the last minute 0-1.
Scotton player of the match was Emily for her Hat trick
performance from midfield.
Thanks again for the support of all the parents at the game. It was
again great to see many down cheering the girls to victory and hence the league
title.
