On another glorious saturday morning the Scorchers welcomed Pannal Ash to the SCG to play Scotton's second match of the season and Pannal's first game.
Pannal started the stronger and threatened the Scotton goal with some good attacks but Scotton then found their feet and led by Ella upfront were soon peppering the Pannal goal with shots from everywhere.
The Pannal goalkeeper was having a blinder though and pulled out top class save after save to keep Scotton at bay.
Sorry if I don't mention your name this week but I shall try and sum up most of the girls contributions.
Abby H gained girl of the game with some great attacking play and superb goalkeeping, The 2 Immy's showed how well they have improved with some great passing and tackling, Molly & Grace showed great poise on the ball and superb defending.
Isla and Olivia linked well with some great running and passing moves.
Megan showed great positional strength and is really reading the game well now and Sophie and Willow got stuck in well with the older girls too.
It was a fantastic all round display by each and every Scorchers players against a really good Pannal team who have a few little superstars themselves.
The game ebbed and flowed with both teams having strong spells but in the end I think Scotton pinched a win by one or two goals but the main thing is the improvement in the girls play and see everyone enjoying themselves.
Well done to both teams and keep smiling girls.
