U11s Pipped by Pop!

The U11s travelled to Poppleton for their third game of the season (which is nearly the whole amount of games they played last season!) on a slightly colder morning than we've been experiencing so far.

The scorchers girls are really playing some entertaining passing and possession football at the moment and are looking the real deal this season.
From their warm up to actually getting out there on the pitch these girls really look like a team with some slick passing and movement and great teamwork.

As a coach I am really gobsmacked at the amazing standard the girls are achieving already at this stage in their 'football careers' and their decision making in games is fantastic.

Unfortunately for the Scotton girls they didn't get the win against a strong Poppleton girls team but it was again, as per previous weeks, a truly entertaining game and another superb advert for girls football.

Ella R captained the team today and did very well playing in a couple of different of positions and leading by example. Every week it is harder and harder to pick a Girl of the Game due to all the girls improving so much but this week Jess won it due to some amazing saves and great distribution. She really was a  star this week and as you'll see by the pics she loves diving about!!

What you should also see in the pics is the smiles on ALL the girls faces which shows you that all the parents and teams are creating a great atmosphere for all the girls to play in, so a big thankyou to all parents of both teams for again creating a great morning of football for the girls.

Well done to Poppleton for the win but well done Scorchers for not getting your heads down. You continued to do the right things and play the right way and try something different which trust me will be reap huge gains in the future.

                                               GO SCORCHERS!
