BOUNCEBACKABILITY, if ever a word described this squad perfectly then this was it!
Another lovely autumn morning saw the Scorchers travel to the lovely surroundings of Heslington in York where the U12s bounced back from a 7 nil defeat last week to control large parts of this game which saw them come away with a 1 all draw.
Led this week by Therese the Scorchers were out the traps from the first kick of the ball and really were playing superbly. They were first to everything and were winning all their tackles and really took the game to the Foxes of Fulford.
The Scorchers passing and moving game was back on song and they forced an own goal (which I think Imogen deserves again) when chaos erupted in the goalmouth and a scramble ended up in the goal of the Foxes which took Scotton in 1 nil at half time.
Despite switching keepers around in the second half things carried on in the same vain as the first half and the Scorchers took control again but just as the first half couldn't quite convert their many chances. Take nothing away from the girls of Fulford though and after hanging in for most of the game they managed a goal of their own to sneak a draw.
As ever well played to all the girls from both sides, thankyou to Fulford for their hospitality and Scotton's girl of the game today was Livi for a superb display of tackling and brilliant distribution of the ball.
GO SCORCHERS!
