U12s Scarborough 1 v Scorchers 1

Yesterday morning saw the U12s venture across to play their good friends Scarborough in very cold foggy conditions.
Unfortunately due to a combination of vehicle trouble and road closures 2 girls never actually made it to the game. Hope you are all home safe and sound now!!

So the Scorchers started with the 7 players with Jasmine taking the captains role and she led her team very well with an all action non-stop performance up and down the pitch.
Scarborough girls are a good team and they desevedly took the lead in the first half but as I have said many a time this season this Scorchers team never give in and they kept playing their footaball.

Great performances all over the pitch saw the girls give a really gritty performance but unfortunately they went into the half time team talk one goal down.

In the second half Scorchers swapped their goalkeeper around and the two Andy's asked the girls for even more effort than the 100% they were already giving and the girls responded with an excellent second half performance which saw Abbey score a well deserved equaliser.

Both teams had opportunity to win it but as the final whistle blew I think a draw was a fair result.

Yet another brilliant game of football with high skill levels and commitment shown from both sides, another great advertisement for the female game.

Girl of the game was Jasmine for a fantastic display of grit and determination.

Well played everyone and we look forward to welcoming Scarborough to ours in the return fixture.

                                                    GO SCORCHERS!
