U14 Scorchers V KP United

With our goalkeeper Daisy nursing a possible broken ankle and Philipa poorly with a chest infection the Scorchers squad was severely depleted. However the girls took up the challenge using three goalkeepers in the 'big' goals. KP United started brightly and soon took the lead following up with two quick goals before Scorchers started to put some passes together and create some good attacking play. The defence was stretched, but got better support from the midfield of Shannon Emily and Abbie, who also got forward to support Rosie Melissa and Kayliegh who all had spells in attack. Scorchers got the goal their hard work deserved Rosie (player of the day) setting up Kayleigh who coolly put the ball in to the net after splitting the KP defence. Haley and Rebecca made some good tackles and Hayley on a number of occasions decieved the KP attack with clever turns, Rebecca bravely playing most of the game after being poorly all week. Hannah and Georgia were outstanding, helping out in defence, attack and goal, well done girls. Overall the scoreline was possibly exagerated because of the big goals, but the girls played well today, but can learn from the pass and move philosophy of KP United, who played neat football and let the ball do the work.

Training next week at 9.45am at the Cricket Club.
