First of all girls dont forget its training at Percy Field this week commencing at 10am until around 11.15 and its parents meeting at the village hall from 10.15.
Scorchers took on Tockwith who are on a bit of a role at the moment and are heading up the table. That said for large parts of the game the Scorchers matched them. With Daisy back in goal making a number of terrufic saves it wasnt until the 20th minute that Tockwith took the lead. Haley who goyt girl of the game was outsatnding alongside Philippa who was equally impressive. With midfield of Emily and Rosie taking the attack to Tockwith the game was end to end, with Scorchers pressure almost creating a goal from a corner which the keeper only just kept out! Abbie and Melissa lead the line well up front with Melissa just unable to shake that last defender off on a number of occasions and Abbie using her speed to great effect. With all the girls getting a game we made big changes at half time and in the second half some of Daisies fantastic saves didnt quite come off, Olivia did well playing with a slight injury and holding the defence together, Rebecca made a number of key challenges against Tockwiths fastest player and Shannon, Imogen and Kayleigh linked up well up front but couldnt find a way to goal. In the end the score line didnt reflect the game and Tockwith were comfortable winners. However the girls can be proud of their performance and work rate.
