The U11 girls followed up their 1-0 win over Ilkley 2 weeks ago with a very impressive 10-1 win at Ripon.
The slightly warmer conditions seemed to lift the girls into action and they put in a good passing performance in the first half with top goal scorer Chloe getting a hat-trick and Ella adding two more to go 5-0 up. Molly and Emma both played well when called into action and Sam, in her first start since returing to the club, had a solid game in goal. Ripon did not let the score line get them down and worked hard to pulled one back before half time to make the score 5-1 at the break.
In the second half Scotton continued to work hard and pass the ball well, with Maddie and Steph both tackling hard in midfield and creating several chances. Ella managed to complete her hat-trick early in the second half then found the net again to make 4 for the game. Emily also got on the score sheet early in the second half and within a few minutes found a second and a third to also get a hat-trick. Emily and Ella both then dropped back into defence and midfield allowing Georgina and Jessica to take a more forward role, with both creating chances for themselves and each other but without the luck to get a goal.
Ripon worked hard throughout the whole game but were unfortunate to run into the Scorchers when they hit their best form of the season.
Player of the match for Scotton was a tough decision this week with all the girls playing well, particularly Ella and Maddie, but the award went to Ella for her hard work, good tackling and of course her 4 goals!
Well done to all, see you all at training next week 9.45am at the Cricket Club
