U13's CUP RESULT

RAILWAY 2 V 4 SCORCHERS
The U13's progressed through to the semi finals with a thoroughly convincing win over a spirited Railway side.
Emma captained the side this week and led her team down the slope in the first half.
Along side emma was the ever reliable Ellie and at right back Rebecca S with her overlapping runs down the wing.Just in front of the back three was Riah standing tall and breaking up many Railway surges from midfield.
Even when the Railway girls did manage to break through there was no way past Jayde 'the cat' Latimer superb in the goal as ever, who made plenty of important diving saves.
In front of these was the attacking force of Katy,Molly and Georgie all supplying Georgia upfront with the balls to keep peppering the Railway goal.
Several great runs and good passing moves led to shots on the railway goal but unfortunately no end result until Georgie finally made one count with a strike straight in the back of the net.1-0SCORCHERS. GT was getting a little frustrated at not being able to find the net but has learnt to relax and be patient and the goals will come.
Unfortunately there was no more goals for either side in the first half so the teams swapped sides and the scorchers then had to play up the slope.
On came Hannah and Becky C who both put in fantastic performances,Hannah who is always available for the ball and can turn defence into attack with her lightning quick runs with the ball and Becky who could possibly be one of the toughest tacklers in the league who stopped plenty of Railway attempts on the scorchers goal.
Riah went into goal and was very vocal in sorting out her defence.
GT's patience payed off and she scored her first goal early in the second half and this seemed to be a weight off her mind and she went on to rattle off yet another hat-trck and put the Scorchers into a comfortable 4-0 lead.
So job done eh you'd think? Oh no not this side, suddenly the whole team decided to step aside and let a Railway player walk straight down the middle and plant the ball straight past Riah in goal.4-1 to the scorchers. To be fair the railway girls deserved their goal for their hard effort.
Instead of tightening up and seeing the game out the Scorchers girls just went on the attack which unfortunately left them wide open up at the back(something the girls need to work on!)and this resulted in Railway pulling another goal back 4-2.
Thankfully it was all a little too much too late and the Scorchers progressed comfortably through to the semi finals.
Rebecca S claimed player of the match for an all round performance in various positions on the pitch.
WELL DONE TO BOTH SIDES for another thoroughly entertaining game enjoyed by all.
So onto Leeds Amazones away in the semi final,if the girls put in another good performance then a third Final could be on the cards.Lets keep our fingers crossed!

GO SCORCHERS!
