U11 Tigers - Match Reports

Brooklyn 0 Scorchers 3

It was great to get back to football today after a lengthy lay off due to the snow and ice. After our last game and a defeat it was important to start the game well, particularly as Brooklyn had held us to just a one nil win.
So we asked for a fast start and an attacking performance and we werent disappointed as Ella leading from the front dribbled round the Brooklyn defence to give the Scorchers an early lead. Scotton didnt have it all their own way though as Brooklyn put up some resolute defending. Charlotte B made countless runs down the left bringing Niamh and Emma in to the game and creating real chances. It was from one such run and cross that Ella scored her second, another maisy run and fine shot giving the keeper no chance. Two nil at half time but it was still a close encounter. In the second half as Scorchers pressed to seal the win, Charlotte M and Olivia were always alert and won almost every tackle in defence. Amelia was tested with a shot that she caught and held and was assured with her kicking and distribution.

Niamh was captain and was unlucky not to score, playing an energetic midfield role against some players much bigger and stronger but never gave up and caused them plenty of problems.

Emma tracked back time and again, with great tackling and distribution too, it was from a tackle that Emma won the ball and passed to Charlotte B on the wing, who ran and ran, and kept running slamming the ball home to seal the victory and earn girl of the game.

Brooklyn 0 Scotton 0

In the second game Scorchers maintained their unbeaten run with a nil nil result, thanks to Olivia who went in goal as everyone tried out different roles. Beth came close to scoring joining Amelia in attack and Niiamh came close too. Beth was girl of the game for a great attacking performance.

Scotton 3 Brayton 0

This time at home the Scorchers played some great football, again playing with Ella as the loan striker but with Charlotte on the left, Niamh on the right and Emma in the middle, the only change at the start was Georgia coming in for Olivia in defence. Amelia in goal calmly dealt with Brayton's attack ably assisted by Charlotte M and Georgia. The goals all came from Ella, who showed great composure on the ball to beat a resolute defence and some outstanding goalkeeping. Beth came on in midfield and showed some good passing and running with the ball to keep the pressure on Brayton. We also had shots against the post and one off the bar from Charlotte B to round off a great performance. Girl of the game went to Ella for 3 great goals

Scotton 5 Brayton 0

The following game had our players switching positions to create a really attacking team, as Charlotte M scored four!! showing real determination and strength to keep going to beat the defence and keeper time and time again and Naimh got on the scoresheet too to provide a resounding win. All the girls played well and thanks to Lee for refereeing the game. Charlotte M was girl of the game (well you cant argue with 4 goals!!! well done)
