Scorchers U16(Mixed U16&U15 Squads) V U16 Hambleton Schools

A newly formed U16 11 a side took on a Hambleton Schools U16 team for the now annual friendly fixture at Percy Fields on saturday morning with the schools team coming out 2 goals to nil victors.

In the first half the girls looked a bit tentative as they formed new partnerships and worked out the new formation and this reflected in the scoreline with Hambleton Schools able to score 2 goals with a couple of nice strikes.

At half time the girls stressed that they needed more help in the midfield area and so the formation was changed and they pushed another player into the middle of the park and this again reflected in the scoreline with the second half ending all square with no goals scored by either side but the Scorchers had created more chances in the second half and were unlucky not to at least pull a goal back. 

So the final score was Scorchers 0 v 2 Hambleton Schools.

Another superb high skill levels and commitment game of football from both teams and I think all will agree it was a pleasure to witness this game and I'm sure at least a couple of girls from today's game will go on to play at the highest level of football.

Well done to all and the girls look forward to playing Hambleton in the return friendly fixture.
