Pictures from the match: SLIDESHOW
On a morning of mixed weather (we had rain, hail and sun!) the U16s SHONE.
Playing a very good Fulford side, who are through to the league cup final, the Scorchers girls produced their best display of the season in front of 'Kez' (of Leeds Ladies FC) and kept yet another clean sheet.
The girls pressed from the off and a handball in the box forced the referee to give a penalty. (A brave decision but no doubt about it, well done ref) Emily T cooly despatched it into the corner to put the girls 1 nil up.
Another attack down the left produced a great run and finish from Stocky who fooled the keeper 'Pele' style to put the girls 2 nil up.
Emily T slotted home her second and Scorchers third, 3 nil to the scorchers and well and truly in the driving seat going into half time.
The girls moved things around to rest players and still managed to play with the same 'panache' and style as the first half and early on Molly wrapped up the game with a great finish and put the girls 4 up.
Well done to all the girls and especially Captain and Girl of the Game GT who revelled in her new role and was controlling the game and saw a lot more of the ball than most games. She really did play superbly.
FINAL SCORE 4-0 to the Scorchers.
A huge thankyou to Fulford for all their compassion earlier on in the season and understanding.
Good luck to them in their Final against Poppleton on Saturday, that should be a great match.
Also a big thankyou to 'Kez' who never let up all match driving the girls on and inspiring them to a great result.
So unbelievably after everything the girls have overcome this season this has actually set them up for a title decider match against all conquering Poppleton on tues evening.
I for one never thought the girls would get this close but this is testament to their spirit and lets hope the girls go out on tues night and just enjoy themselves no matter the result.
This has certainly been a rollercoaster of a season and one many of us will never forget!!
GO SCORCHERS!! (BELIEVE)
