U14's Match Reports

Scorchers 1 v Stamford Bridge 0

With Stamford Bridge in third and going well the Scorchers battled out a great 1 nil win, neat midfield play, tight at the back and taking that opportunity Caroline scored the goal to give us the points. A really close tussle, but a deserved win and clean sheet for Alyson in goal.

Cup Semi Final - Scottonon Scorchers vPoppleten
This game just didnt take place and if it did we cant remember the score. With three players injured and unable to play and a fourth playing injured, the girls showed real determination to keep going and kept on smiling.

Scorchers 5 Brooklyn 2
Goals from Emma 1, Abby G 2 and Caroline 1, the girls were in fine form, we played a different formation, switched keepers and played a great game against Brooklyn who have been terrific all season and keep getting better and better.

Scorchers 6 Cayton 2
Goals from Caroline 4, Abby G 1 and Ella 1 gave us a great result, just last season we had come here last game of the season needing 2 goals to finish 3rd, hit the post, and ended 0.0. What a difference a season makes! Thanks to Abby G who scored the first and got us on our way and then raced off to Cricket at the final whistle!

Scotton 1 Scarborough 5
It's a funny old game, we dominated the first half and should have been 4 up, only to find Scarborough equalise just before half time, second half Scarborough got 2 quick goals and there was no way back! Scarborough scored a great header from a free kick.

Scotton 2 Ripon 1
With Ripon alraedy assured of second place it was up to the Scorchers to grab the points, a very close game saw the Scorchers 2. nil up before Ripon got a late goal back. Goals from Abby G.

Poppleton 2 Scorchers 1
One of the games of the season, as the girls put together some fantastic football, leading throughout most of the first half after a great cross from the left was chipped in over the keeper by Caroline. Poppleton grabbed an equaliser just before half time, but it took them most of the second half to get ahead, in the last few minutes Chloe got clear through but just couldnt find the net, A fabulous all round team performance from Alyson in goal right through the team, what a game!!!

Scarborough 2 Scorchers 1
With some of our attacking players away, this was a great chance to play a different way and we were soon ahead, a brave header from joint girl of the game Naimh beat the keeper who could only palm the ball in to the path of Abby A who smashed the ball home. Another terrific performance with Ella joint girl of the game for unbelievable work rate and quality play all over the pitch. Bethan picked up a nasty knock but was soon smiling again, particularly when we stopped for chips on the way home!

Scorchers 3 Fulford 1
Flowing football from the Scorchers 2 more from Caroline and 1 from Emma, saw the girls home, a late goal from Fulford couldnt take the shine off this performance, majestic in midfield, diligent in defence and anazing in attack.

Its just too exciting! I cant look!
