Well this was the classic game of 2 halves!
Knaresborough raced into a 2 goal lead while the Scorchers were finding their feet with Molly captaining her team today.
The Scorchers girls soon got into their rhythm though and were passing the ball around majestically and created chance after chance but the Celtic goalkeeper was having a blinder again, this player is a superstar!
Eventually Connie managed to beat their keeper to bring the score closer but again Celtic scored to restore their lead.
I have never seen a team at this age group play such good football as the Scorchers girls did in this first half and they were rewarded for their passing game when Olivia scored Scotton's second and took the Scorcher in just a goal behind at half time.
All change in personnel for the scorchers in the second half and a very attacking team was put on but this did allow Celtic to exploit the gaps as the Scorchers girls forgot to defend aswell as put the Celtic goal under siege!!
Celtic girls duly punished the Scorchers for neglecting their defending duties and scored to restore their 2 goal advantage but that was their last attack of the game as the Scorchers girls then went onto put shot after shot on the Celtic goal of which their golkeeper kept out most that the Scorchers girls sent her way. (Well played again Goalie!)
Abbey Harland did manage to score 2 great goals and level the scores and Celtic hung on for the draw with some resolute defending and everybody went home happy.
Girl of the game today was Grace for her part in the most amazing passing game the girls have produced so far! Well played Grace.
As ever all the girls were amazing and all played their part, well done girls.
