The Scorchers U11s welcomed the girls of Kirk Deighton on Saturday morning at the SCG.
On a lovely big flat pitch the 8 girls of Scotton (hopefully the rest will return soon!) played their usual brand of passing football and were looking really good against a Kirk Deighton side looking splendid in their new kit.
Isa took the captains armband and led by example but girl of the game for the scorchers went to Olivia for a fantastic display upfront and also bagging herself the customary goal!
Despite taking the lead and going into halftime level through goals from Abbey and Olivia the Scorchers lost out today 4 goals to 2.
Kirk Deighton also played a lovely passing game and their striker was on fire bagging herself a hat-trick.
All in all though it was a brilliant game of football played by both teams and supported wonderfully by the watching parents.
Again another fantastic Saturday of girls football where both sides were putting development of players before results.
Well played everyone.
In the friendly match after the girls all swapped positions and chose their own positions and Ella R stood out in this game and cost her dad some money from what I hear!!
The scorchers just pipping their opponents in this game by a single goal but again well played by all.
Thankyou to Kirk Deighton for the games and we look forward to playing at your pitch later on in the season. As you can see by the photos all the girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
GO SCORCHERS!
