U12s Tockwith 0 v 1 SCORCHERS

On another glorious sunny morning (in complete contrast to last time we went to Tockwith!) the U12s played out another tough bruising encounter with their old friends at Tockwith.

With only the one substitute the girls set about the game slightly differently to last week and went for a more direct style this week and were really looking to put the pressure on their opponents early on but Tockwith girls are a really good strong team and stood up well to the Scorchers tactics.
Tockwith gave as good as they got and this was as always going to be a tough close game.

At half time the scores were all even at nil nil and the second half played out similar to the first half but Jess had to pull of some cracking saves again and had another stormer!
Jasmine was showing some great dribbling skills in the middle of the park and really looks like she is settling in nicely. Aimee and Lucy were tough tackling as usual at the back and Abbey and Therese were flying up and down the wings with Connie pulling the strings in the middle but Imogen up front made the break through with only a few minutes left when after evading a strong tackle and swerving a couple of defenders managed to poke the ball home for her first ever Scorchers goal and what a time to do it!! 1 nil to the Scorchers. Well done Imogen, reward for a great game that she had.

The game finished 1 nil to Scotton which might have been tough on Tockwith but thats football sometimes and I just hope all the girls from both sides enjoyed the game as they all were superb.

Thanks to Tockwith for their hospitality as ever and good luck with the rest of their season.

Girl of the Game for Scotton went to Therese for some excellent wing play and she also looks to have settled in really well and takes some stopping when she gets going.

Well Played everyone.

                                                   GO SCORCHERS!
