U12s SCORCHERS 0 v Brayton Belles 7

Another glorious autumn morning saw the scorchers U12s welcome Brayton Belles from Selby to the SCG.
This morning saw a debut for Livi (welcome to scotton scorchers) and with our regular goalkeper having to play out of goal due to torn ligaments in her hand it was a case of switching things around again and using these games for developing girls in positions they may not normally play in (or want to play in!)

So the game kicked off and the scorchers were all looking like strangers and Brayton latched onto this uncertainty and raced into a 4 nil lead by half time.
As the game went on and as the girls got used to each other they started to play better football and some of the girls even remembered their slick passing of old.

The Belles of Brayton grabbed 3 more goals in the second half to wrap up the win but there was lots of positives to be taken from todays game.
Firstly 8 smiling happy players from Scotton enjoying football as friends. 2 new players bedded in like they have been part of the squad for years and 2 more players keen to join us in the next couple of weeks.
Lots of players experiencing playing in different positions which is only good news for their own long term player development.

By the end of this season these girls will be playing just like Brazil, trust me. Remember Jess' ball juggling skills in the middle of the game today? Not bad for a goalkeeper eh?
These girls don't just want to win games they want to entertain!

So well played to all girls from both sides, thankyou to Brayton for playing in a brilliantly sporting manner and we look forward to the trip to yours.

Captain of the Scorchers today was Ella and girl of the game went to Lucy for a brilliant game with great defending and superb attacking play.

                                                         GO SCORCHERS!
